The visitor center operates daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Access to the lakes is completely fenced off. You must purchase a guided tour to see the water up close.

You will pay a reserve tax of roughly 100–200 MXN, plus the cost of your chosen tour. Options include walking, biking, or a safari truck. Swimming is strictly prohibited to protect the salt purity.

The Pink Lagoons (Cristalizadores)

30-45 minBest midday

These shallow evaporation pools hold the highest salinity levels in the facility. The extreme environment allows Dunaliella salina microalgae to thrive, creating the distinct fuchsia color. Aim to arrive between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM when the overhead sun reflects the brightest color.

Workers harvest roughly 750,000 tons of sea salt here annually, forming massive white mountains. You are not permitted to touch or climb the salt piles. Instead, use them as a stark white backdrop for wide-angle photographs against the pink water.
